The Mirella Academie has a firm shank to provide support and resistance to a developing foot to help build foot and ankle strength.

Like the Mirella Advanced and Professional Pointe shoes, the Mirella Academie is a beautifully light, comfortable and elegant shoe. Its vamp and sides are slightly higher than the MS101A and MS101P, providing additional support to the wearer.

The outer sole is incredibly flat, especially helpful to the student dancer by providing greater stability for balances on flat, running and walking. The gently curved sole hugs and supports the dancer's arch en Pointe, giving a beautiful line and needing little or no breaking in. This shoe has a large platform, giving greater control en Pointe for ease when balancing and turning.

MS101A ADVANCED MIRELLA POINTE SHOE

The MS101A is a streamlined and light Pointe shoe with a short open U shaped vamp and low cut sides thus revealing the instep.

It has a gently curved suede outsole which means the shoe hugs the foot for greater articulation and support en Pointe. A strong composite insole supports the dancer in the shoe, while still allowing demi Pointe.

Its large platform provides greater control en Pointe for ease of balancing and turning. The outsole and flat pleats also combine to provide a smooth surface giving the dancer greater stability whether running or walking or standing.

MS138 ELEGANCE MIRELLA POINTE SHOE

The Mirella Elegance Pointe Shoe has a lowered profile and very streamline aesthetic. The cushioned pleating and pasting method all combine together to create an extremely quiet shoe.

Delicate and lightweight, the MS138 has an oval shaped platform for ease of balancing and turning en pointe. The sides and heel of the shoe have been lowered, complimenting the “Open U” shaped vamp to truly highlight any dancers’ instep and arch.

The shank of the MS138 is pliable yet sturdy to hold up in long classes or rehearsals. The shank is glued down to the newly designed leather outsole thus eliminating the need for a tack. The flat leather outsole will act as the perfect guide; bending with the electrical board and shank at the correct 3/4 position of the dancers foot. The dancer will have the utmost control and articulation and as a result the dancer will feel as though she is “lifted”, able to remain en pointe all day!

On May 10th 2010, the 1st Dancers Against Cancer benefit concert was held for a 21 year old Utah dancer who was diagnosed for the 2nd time with a rare cancer called Rhabdomyosarcoma, (cancer of the muscle) She had beat cancer as a 6 mth. old baby and had been cancer free for 20 years!

The dance community in Utah County rallied around this dancer giving of their time and talents! Allison Holker, Randi Evans and Gev Manoukian from the TV. show So You Think You Can Dance, donated 1 hr. private lessons for the silent auction, and Mollee Gray actually came and performed!

Now Dancers Against Cancer is a corporation supporting anyone fighting cancer!

We believe that raising money for cancer foundations is great...

But... we want to keep it as personal as we can, hoping to bring dancers, dance studios, school organizations, local businesses and the community together for one cause!

Entrants may compete as a Soloist or Duo

Dancers should come prepared with two pieces, 30 sec/60sec

We will accept the first 75 entries per age group

We welcome all styles, levels and ages!

Whether you are a self-taught dancer or a professional, we don't care!

Are your a ballroom or square dance couple? You may enter as one entry!

WE JUST WANT TO SEE YOUR DANCE!!

In the end you will be dancing for the crowd's vote! You don't have to be the best dancer to win, you have to be the FAVORITE!
As this will be a family entertainment event, we ask that all costuming be modest. Please no low-cut or half-tops. Thanks!

PRELIMINARY AUDITION ROUND

Will be held on Wednesday, August 4 at The Pointe Academy in Lindon, UT (55 N1400 W) You will be emailed your audition time, auditions will begin at 1:00pm.

FINALS

Ages 8-15 5pm

The ten finalists from round one will compete for your vote! After a round of each contestant's one minute routine, the judges will narrow it to a Top 4. Cricket will be sponsoring texting for all audience members to text in their choice for Highland's Favorite Young Dancer! The overall winner of this round will win $150, dance at the finals later that night, and be in the parade with The Pointe Academy the next morning! Prizes will be given to the Top 4.

Ages 16-100 7pm

The top twenty finalists from round one will compete for your vote! Judges will narrow the Top 20 to Top 4 and then Cricket will be sponsoring texting for all audience members to text in their choice for Highland's Favorite Dancer! The overall winner will win $1000!!, dance at the finals later that night, and be in the parade with The Pointe Academy the next morning! Prizes will be given to the Top 4.

We have CELEBRITY judges and HOST scheduled for both rounds~some of your favorites from SYTYCD, High School Musical, Odyssey Dance Theatre and more! Judges will give live commentary. It is going to be a fun night for everyone involved!

When preparing your choreography, please note that this will be an outdoor event, and the stage is 34' long by 24' wide. The flooring will be marley.

You may download your registration packet on Monday, June 14 on The Pointe Academy's website, www.thepointeacademy.com. Packets are due by August 1. We are only accepting the first 75 entries in each category, so get your packet in today!
